A Sydney man has been arrested after he allegedly used a pay-per-view live streaming pornography site that exploited children in another country.
Sex Crimes Squad detectives arrested the 41-year-old in Sydney's CBD on Thursday morning.
The man allegedly paid money to access a live-streamed video of sexual exploitation where he gave instructions to children, believed to be aged between eight and 14.
He has been charged with 24 offences, including possession of child-abuse material and causing a child to engage in sexual intercourse in his presence.
Police said the rise of `live' child pornography was concerning.
"The emerging issue of 'pay-per-view' live-streamed child pornography is deeply concerning," Sex Crimes Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Linda Howlett said.
"Police will persist in their efforts to locate the child victims, as well as those who've offended against them."
The man did not apply for bail, which was formally refused, in Central Local Court on Thursday.
The man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is due to appear later this month.
