Man charged after blast at SA home

A man has been charged after an explosion at a home in Adelaide.

A man has been charged with firearms offences after an explosion at a house in Adelaide's north.

Police patrols in the area on an unrelated matter heard the blast on Tuesday and evacuated the Northfield property.

One person was treated for minor injuries and police said a search revealed a discarded shotgun.

A 28-year-old man was subsequently charged with possession of a prescribed firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and failing to truly answer.

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Police said they were continuing to investigate the blast but were satisfied there were no ongoing safety concerns.
