A man has been charged with animal cruelty after he was captured on video appearing to kick a dog at a Gold Coast beach.
The man, believed to be the dog's owner, was filmed by a bystander kicking the canine as he and a woman with another dog got the animals down from a ute at Currumbin.
The video was posted on Facebook on Monday and received hundreds of thousands of views before it was taken down.
The dog was seized on Tuesday afternoon by the RSPCA and taken to its animal care centre at Wacol.
The man was charged on Thursday with one count of animal cruelty and is due to face the Southport Magistrates court next month.
