Man charged over $492,000 in bank fraud

A 34-year-old Sydney man has been charged with fraud worth nearly half a million dollars after police were alerted to suspicious transactions.

A Sydney bank worker has been charged with fraud after police uncovered 80 transactions worth nearly half a million dollars.

The fraud and cybercrime squad discovered $492,000 had been paid into two separate accounts after an undisclosed bank alerted them to suspicious transactions by an employee.

A 34-year-old man was charged with three counts of fraud on Thursday, and granted strict conditional bail to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court in May.
