Man charged over Bendigo teen's murder

A 19-year-old man will face a Victorian court charged with the stabbing murder of a teenager in Bendigo on the weekend.

Victoria Police charged the man on Monday after an 18-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Ironbark - a suburb of Bendigo - on Saturday night.

The alleged killer has been remanded in custody and will appear at the Bendigo Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

The victim has been named by local media as aspiring rapper Hayden Coleman.

Hundreds of people have posted tributes to the Kangaroo Flat teen on social media.

Siblings Karley, Nicole, Damien and Amanda Coleman say words can't describe the pain of losing their brother.

"You were strong, loyal, creative, funny, clever, smart, kind-hearted and respectful,'' they wrote in a statement to the Bendigo Advertiser.

Hayden's siblings said while they were now "one man down on the ground" they would stand stronger than ever because they had a new angel watching over them.
