Two months after a fatal shooting outside a Melbourne nightclub a man has faced court accused of knowing who was behind the deadly attack and impeding the investigation.
Epping man Moussa Hamka appeared at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Sunday charged with being an accessory to murder and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
Security guard Aaron Khalid Osmani, 37, and Richard Arow, 28, died after they were shot outside the Love Machine nightclub in Prahran on 14 April.
Four others were injured when shots were fired from a stolen black Porsche SUV, which was later found burnt out in the northern suburb of Wollert.
Mr Hamka, 25, allegedly knew who was behind the attack at the club and impeded the apprehension of those involved, court documents show.
A handgun was allegedly found during a raid on an Epping property on Saturday.
Dressed in a grey t-shirt the accused man kept his head down for the brief hearing.
He did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody to appear in court on Tuesday.
Richard Arow's girlfriend was about five metres from him when he was shot.
She described him as the "strongest man with the softest heart".
Following the incident, Mr Arow's football club Westside Strikers paid tribute to him.
"Even in the changing rooms after a loss, he was the one who tried to bring people up with his big smile. That's how I remember him, I never remember him upset or say[ing] something negative," Westside Strikers Vice President Francesco De Bonis said.
"Richard was held in high regard, his personality and everlasting smile is something we will always remember," the team said in a Facebook post.
