A man who allegedly stabbed three overseas tourists with a piece of glass during an argument at a Sydney backpackers' hostel is set to face assault and wounding charges in court.
Two 19-year-old German men and a 24-year-old Irish woman suffered stab wounds in the attack at the Pitt Street hostel in the Haymarket district about 2.15am (AEST) on Thursday.
Police allege the three were arguing with a 36-year-old man at the time.
One of the men was stabbed in the neck, the other was stabbed in the arm and the woman was stabbed in the face.
Sydney City Local Area Commander Superintendent Mark Walton told reporters on Thursday that a man had been charged over the attack.

The incident was interrupted by security guard Mustafa, who said he only did what he had to do.
"As a human being I have to do what I have to do, anyone should do the same thing," he told reporters.
Supt Walton said it was not known if alcohol was involved but "mental health" issues may have been a factor.
The three backpackers were in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The arrested man has been charged with three counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He will appear in Central Local Court on Thursday.
