Man charged over nursing home sex attack

NSW police have charged a nursing home worker over the alleged sexual assault of an elderly resident.

A nursing home employee has been charged with sexually assaulting a 72-year-old resident in Sydney's southwest.

Police say they were called by staff at the home in Padstow Heights after they became aware of the alleged assault on Sunday.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on Thursday and charged with aggravated sexual assault.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Liverpool Local Court on Friday.
