Man charged over police number plate theft

A man has been charged over the alleged theft of a police car number plate outside a Sydney police station.

A man has been charged after he allegedly stole a number plate from a marked police car in Sydney in broad daylight.

Police noticed the car, parked outside Kings Cross Police Station, was missing a rear number plate just after 11am on Friday.

Following an investigation, the 29-year-old was arrested in Woolloomooloo and will face Downing Centre Local Court on February 19 charged with larceny.
