A man has been charged after allegedly pushing an elderly man to the ground, elbowing a woman in the face and headbutting a cafe manager in Sydney.

The 35-year-old was walking from Kings Cross railway station along Darlinghurst Road at about 6.45pm on Saturday when he allegedly pushed the 79-year-old man in the back, causing him to fall and break his wrist.

The woman was then allegedly elbowed and when a 44-year-old man working in a nearby cafe intervened, he was also allegedly attacked.

The man was arrested soon later and charged with multiple offences, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was refused bail and is set to appear before Parramatta Local Court later on Sunday.

Inquiries are continuing, and police are yet to speak to the woman who was allegedly assaulted.
