Man charged over Sydney footpath shooting

A man has been charged with the murder of 45-year-old Bill Panagakos who died of a gunshot wound on a footpath in Sydney's inner west in 2014.

A 36-year-old man has been charged with murder almost three years after a man was shot dead on a footpath in Sydney's inner west.

Bill Panagakos, 45, died from a gunshot wound on Railway Street in Petersham shortly after 11pm on March 5, 2014. Witnesses reported seeing two men running from the area.

The accused man will face Burwood Local Court on Thursday.
