Man charged over WA fatal hit and run

A man has been charged over a suspected hit and run death in Western Australia after a 42-year-old man was found by the side of a highway in 2017.

A 50-year-old man has been accused of a hit and run after a man was found dead on the side of a Perth highway.

Police found the body of a 42-year-old man beside the Leach Highway in Bateman on November 16 and it was believed he may have been hit by a semi-trailer.

A man has now been charged with failing to report an incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm and will appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Friday.
