A 29-year-old Melbourne man has been charged with murder after a 45-year-old man was found dead at a St Kilda halfway house earlier this week.

Earl Jones was arrested at a St Kilda hotel on Wednesday afternoon following a two-day manhunt.

He has been charged with one count of murder, one count of aggravated burglary and two counts of burglary, and is expected to face the Melbourne Magistrates' Court later on Thursday afternoon.
