A man has been charged with murdering a young man who died in a violent street brawl in Victoria's north.
Police say the 27-year-old, who remains in custody, was charged in an out of sessions court hearing on Saturday afternoon.
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Sunday.
Hayden Atkinson-Thring, 20, died after he was stabbed in the abdomen about 10.30pm (AEDT) on Thursday in a violent fight outside a service station in Cobram.
Two men fled in a silver Commodore after a verbal argument.
Mr Atkinson-Thring's distraught girlfriend Kelli Berdini said in a tribute posted on social media she would never forget her "soul mate".
"My heart is broken haych," Ms Berdini wrote.
"I had never been so happy. What am I meant to do without my co pilot?"
