Man charged with SA pensioner's murder

A man is due to face an Adelaide court charged over the bashing murder of an 80-year-old man in his own home last March.

A man has been charged with the bashing murder of an 80-year-old pensioner in his Adelaide home last year.

Nicola "Nick" Piscioneri was found dead on March 9 in his Hendon home, where he lived alone.

Last week, police released security vision of a man believed to be connected to the crime and photos of the murder weapon.

Police said Mr Piscioneri was bashed with a metal pipe, believed to be either part of a microphone stand or of a drum cymbal stand.

Police on Tuesday said a 54-year-old man from Royal Park was arrested overnight and will appear in the Adelaide magistrates court.
