A 21-year-old man has been charged with stabbing three teenage boys at a house party on Sydney's upper north shore.

The man is facing three counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to front the Hornsby Local Court on Monday.

A 16-year-old remains in a critical condition following the alleged stabbings on Saturday night, while a 17-year-old and 18-year-old are both stable.

Police and paramedics were called to Heydon Street in Warrawee just before midnight on Saturday after reports three young males had been stabbed, setting up a crime scene and sparking a hunt for the alleged offender.

He was nabbed near Hornsby Police Station at about 9am on Sunday and will remain in custody before facing court.
