Manchester City will face Manchester United in the FA Cup semi-finals after battling to a 1-0 win over Championship side Reading at Eastlands on Sunday.
The only goal of a dour match came when defender Micah Richards powerfully headed home a corner after 74 minutes, giving Reading keeper Alex McCarthy no chance of saving it even though he got a hand to the ball.
Reading, who beat Premier League sides West Browmich Albion and Everton on their way to the last eight, defended well against Roberto Mancini's expensively assembled team who were largely unimpressive apart from the hard-working David Silva.
City will face United at Wembley Stadium on April 16 or 17. Stoke City, who beat West Ham United 2-1 on Sunday, will face Bolton Wanderers in the other semi-final.
