Two men have burst into a Victorian home and brutally attacked a couple, leaving one of them with critical injuries.
Police say the two men, who knew the couple, likely broke into their Winchelsea home around 8am (AEDT) on Thursday.
The man and woman were then assaulted so badly during the home invasion that they both needed to be taken to hospital.
The man, believed to be in his 30s, was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where he's listed in a critical condition.
The woman, in her 20s, is recovering in the Geelong Hospital with serious injuries.
The two attackers fled and haven't been caught.
