Man dead in Tasmanian highway crash

A man has died and his female passenger is injured after a two car crash on the Midland Highway in Tasmania's north.

A man has been killed and his female passenger is injured after they crashed on the Midland Highway in Tasmania's north.

The Kia wagon carrying six people crashed with a Ford Falcon sedan about 10km south of Perth on Sunday morning.

The man driving the Kia died at the scene and a female passenger has been flown to hospital in Hobart.

A man driving the Ford was taken to Launceston General Hospital.

Police have put road diversions in place while they investigate the crash.
