Man dies a day after SA road crash

A man has died a day after he was trapped in the wreckage of a two-car crash in regional South Australia.

A man has died a day after a car crash on South Australia's Yorke Peninsula.

The victim, a 27-year-old local man, had to be cut free of the wreckage after a collision with another vehicle at Coobowie early on Sunday, SA police say.

He was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital but died on Monday.

One of the cars crashed into a tree following the collision, police said.

The driver of the second car, a 22-year-old Adelaide Hills man, suffered a cut to his head and was taken to the Yorketown Hospital.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

The fatality takes SA's road toll to seven, six fewer than at the same time last year.
