Man dies in crash on NSW's Newell Highway

A man has been killed in a collision between his car and a truck on NSW's Newell Highway, with the road closed in both directions as police investigate.

A man has died after his car collided with a truck on the Newell Highway in NSW's northwest.

Initial investigations suggest the driver of the car crossed on to the wrong side of the road and collided with the truck in the early hours of Saturday. He died at the scene about 20km south of Moree.

The truck driver, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

The Newell Highway is blocked in both directions and is expected to be for some time while officers investigate the crash.
