Man dies in plane crash in northern NSW

A 46-year-old man has died when the plane he was flying crashed in northern NSW.

A pilot has died after the plane he was flying crashed and caught on fire near Walgett in northern NSW.

Fire crews extinguished the blaze at a property on Cryon Road, Cryon just after 10am on Saturday.

The plane's only occupant, a 46-year-old man, died at the scene.
