A man has drowned after getting caught in a rip on the NSW Central Coast.
The man, aged in his 20s, was swimming with his brother near the patrolled area of Frazer Park beach on Sunday afternoon, Surf Lifesaving NSW says.
The two men became distressed in the water with lifesavers launching a rescue operation, but one of the brothers could not be revived.
A surfer in the water saw the man being pulled further out to sea and swam to try and hold the man up but a wave washed the pair of them onto the rocks, Surf Lifesaving NSW said.
When lifeguards reached them, the man's condition had deteriorated and he was unconscious and unresponsive.

CPR treatment was immediately given but all attempts to revive the man were unsuccessful.
Lifesavers managed to pull the other brother out of the water where he was treated by paramedics.
NSW Lifeguard manager Oliver Munson said it was a difficult situation for all involved, made more challenging due to the isolation of the area.
"I would like to acknowledge the efforts of the two witnesses who helped alert the lifeguards and the surfer who was able to make his way to the distressed swimmer," he said in a statement on Sunday.
"Our thoughts and sincere sympathies go out to the family and friends of the two young men at this very sad time."
