A Sydney tobacconist accused of giving young girls free cigarettes and alcohol in exchange for sex has been found guilty of several charges.
The jury in the District Court trial of Houssam Khaled El-Ali, 43, returned guilty verdicts to 10 charges after about a week of deliberations.
The charges included several counts of having sexual intercourse with a child under 16, committing acts of indecency and one count of aggravated sexual intercourse.
He was found not guilty of nine charges in verdicts which were handed down over two days last Thursday and Friday.
El-Ali was accused of molesting five girls aged between 12 and their mid-teens between 2004 and 2008 when he ran a western Sydney shop.

The Crown alleged El-Ali plied his victims with free cigarettes and alcohol before having sex with them, sometimes in the back of his shop.
He hosted alcohol-fuelled birthday parties for some of his victims at motels, which other men occasionally attended.
In one incident, a drunk girl woke up to find El-Ali on top of her in a motel room.
He targeted another girl who was having trouble at home, having sex with her in the back seat of his car before giving her $20 and some cigarettes.
El-Ali denied the charges.
He will face a sentence hearing on October 25.
