Man 'guilty' of killing pregnant partner

A Sydney man who pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of his pregnant girlfriend is due to be sentenced next year.

A Sydney man who stabbed his pregnant girlfriend to death will be sentenced next year after pleading guilty to her manslaughter.

Christopher John Anderson, 41, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to murdering Allira Green but guilty to her manslaughter on the basis of excessive self-defence.

The 23-year-old died from a single stab wound to the chest in a Maroubra unit while five months pregnant in August 2013.

In his original trial at the Supreme Court, which resulted in a hung jury in June, Anderson said he was acting in self-defence and was trying to save her unborn child from her ice addiction.

Anderson will face sentencing in February.
