Man hit while mowing lawn dies in hospital

A man who was hit by a reversing vehicle as he mowed his lawn at Lake Macquarie in NSW's Hunter region has died in hospital.

A man has died in hospital after being struck by a reversing vehicle as he mowed his front lawn at Lake Macquarie in NSW's Hunter region.

Police say the 60-year-old man died in John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle on Sunday night after he was hit in the suburb of Elebeena on October 24 by a four-wheel-drive driven by another 60-year-old man.

The driver stopped to render assistance and later underwent mandatory blood and urine tests.

Investigations are continuing and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
