Man hits emu in Qld motorbike crash

A man in his 60s has been flown to hospital in a serious condition after his motorbike collided with an emu in outback Queensland.

A motorbike rider has multiple injuries after hitting an emu in outback Queensland.

Local tow truck driver Clayton Silvester says it looks like the motorbike came off second-best because there was no emu at the crash site.

"Generally they just run off, unless they're hit by a truck, of course," he told AAP.

The injured man, in his 60s, was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a serious but stable condition after hitting the bird at Womalilla, near Roma, on Tuesday morning.
