Man hospitalised after Sydney shooting

A man is recovering in hospital after being wounded in a shooting in the city's southwest.

A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in Sydney's southwest.

Emergency services responded to reports of a shooting at the corner of St Johns Road and Khancoban Street, Heckenberg, about 9.30pm (AEST) on Wednesday.

When they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to his finger.

The wounded man was taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Police want to talk to anyone who saw a black sedan in the area at the time of the incident.
