Man in court for Qld MP animal kill threat

Queensland's deputy opposition leader will give evidence in court at the trial of a man who threatened to kill his animals in an email.

The trial of a man who allegedly sent an email threatening to kill animals belonging to Queensland's deputy opposition leader is underway.

Steven Wickenden is accused of sending an email to John-Paul Langbroek in July 2014 in which he threatened to "kill your animals" and has been charged with using a carriage service to menace.

Mr Langbroek will give evidence at the trial, which began at the Southport District Court on Monday.
