A 31-year-old man in Western Australia's north is missing and police have concerns for his welfare.

Daniel Price is believed to have been travelling from Kununurra to Karratha via the Gibb River Road.

His last contact was a text message sent on Monday indicating he was planning to take dirt tracks through the Kimberley region.

He was due to return to work on Thursday but when he failed to show up his family was alerted and they contacted police.

Mr Price is described as 184cm tall with a solid build, short brown hair, brown eyes and facial hair.

He has been riding a black motorcycle with camping equipment attached.
