Man seriously burnt in Tas house fire

A 39-year-old man is in hospital with serious burns following a house and car fire in northern Tasmania.

A man has serious burns after a house and car fire in northern Tasmania.

Fire crews attended the house at Brandum just before 9pm on Sunday, to find it and a car engulfed in flames.

A family of four were staying at the house at the time.

A man, 39, was airlifted to hospital in a serious but stable condition with burns to his face, hands and airway.

The mother and children were unhurt and cared for by local residents.

The cause is being investigated.
