Man shot in lower body in Melbourne

A man has been taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a shooting in Coburg, police say.

A man has been shot several times in Melbourne's north.

Emergency services were called to Waterfield Road near Bell Street about 12.20am (AEST) on Monday where they found a 36-year-old Preston man with gunshot wounds to his lower body.

He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
