Man shot in thigh in Sydney's southwest

A man who was visiting a pizza shop in Sydney's southwest is in hospital after he was shot in the thigh.

A man is in a critical condition after he was shot in the thigh in Sydney's southwest in what police say was a targeted attack.

Police believe the 31-year-old man was at a Beverly Hills pizza shop on Thursday about 11am when he was approached by another man before the pair become involved in an argument.

The two men left the area together in a Nissan Dualis and a short time later the 31-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to his thigh some 200m away at Hampden Street, NSW Police said in a statement on Thursday.

The alleged attacker fled the scene.

The injured man was taken to St George Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A crime scene was established as detectives hunt for the alleged attacker with police urging anyone with information about the targeted attack to come forward.
