Man smuggles cocaine in undies: NT cops

A man has allegedly tried to smuggle cocaine from South Australia to the Northern Territory by stashing the drugs in his underwear on a flight, police say.

Northern Territory police have seized a small package of drugs from a man's underpants at Alice Springs airport.

The 26-year-old had allegedly flown from Adelaide on Friday when he was apprehended by police.

"He was searched at the airport and detectives discovered about 28 grams of cocaine which was seized from his underwear," Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said.

The offender was charged with supplying a trafficable quantity of drugs and was remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court on Monday.
