Man stabbed in arm in Sydney's southwest

Police are appealing for information after a man received a stab wound to the arm during an argument at Auburn.

A man is in hospital in a stable condition after he was stabbed in the arm during an argument in a Sydney park.

The man went to meet another man in Civic Park on Auburn Road about 8pm (AEDT) on Monday when an argument broke out, police say.

During the struggle, a knife was produced and the first man received a cut to his left arm.

The attacker ran from the area and the injured man went to a nearby home where he was helped by the residents, who flagged down a passing police car.

The man was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Crime scenes have been established at the park and the Auburn home and police are searching for the other man.
