A man has been thrown from a car after it careered off the road and smashed into a pole, road sign and tree in south Sydney.
Police say the man was one of four passengers inside the car when the driver lost control negotiating a left-hand bend and crashed in Kingsgrove about 6am on Sunday.
He has been taken to St George Hospital for further treatment to suspected internal injuries.
The 34-year-old male driver was breath-tested and hospitalised with facial injuries.
The remaining three passengers refused treatment from paramedics.
