* On how he felt about his team's performance

"It was an outstanding defensive performance when everything went against us. I'm really proud of the players."

* Was the penalty count fair?

"How are you going to win the game at 14-4 in the penalties?"

* Do you think the penalty count was a fair reflection of the game?

"What do you think? You watched it."

* When asked about Penrith winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak's controversial try before halftime

"They scored a try off a kick and a barge over, with a mountain of possession and a 14-4 penalty count."

* Will you approach the NRL for clarification?

"What do you say? I've never seen anything like it. Ever."

* On the Panthers receiving a penalty for passing the ball into Tom Trbojevic in the ruck despite South Sydney not receiving a penalty for a similar play against the Sydney Roosters the night prior

"You can go through the 14 (penalties) of them if you want."

* Can you take positives out of the game?

"I'm so proud of the players. Their goalline defence was outstanding, it's something we can really hang our hat on. We'll walk out of here feeling pretty good about ourselves. We played in circumstances where we couldn't win when some of the things that went against us."
