Manly's Koroisau facing court charge

Manly have confirmed hooker Apisai Koroisau is facing a court charge of entering a property without a lawful excuse.

Manly NRL recruit Apisai Koroisau is facing a charge of illegally entering a property in Bondi on December 20.

The hooker's case briefly went before the courts on January 25, and the Sea Eagles confirmed on Monday that the NRL Integrity Unit was aware of the matter, which came just months after Koroisau's partner died.

"The incident follows some extenuating circumstances in Apisai's personal life," the club said in a statement.

"The Sea Eagles are providing Apisai with the necessary support during this time."

The 23-year-old, who has previously played for South Sydney and Penrith, is next due to face Waverley Local Court on February 17.

The issue further complicates injury-hit Manly's hooker concerns heading into the NRL season.

The club lost stalwart rake Matt Ballin to West Tigers in the off-season and back-up hooker Jayden Hodges suffered a suspected season-ending knee injury at the weekend's Auckland Nines, where possible stand-in Jamie Buhrer copped a broken jaw.
