Manly's Trbojevic certainty for round one

Manly back-rower Jake Trbojevic says he's a certainty for the NRL season opener after recovering from a pectoral injury.

Jake Trbojevic has declared himself fit, recovered from a pectoral injury and a certain starter for round one of the NRL next month.

The Manly forward at one stage feared he would sit out the start of the season because of the injury suffered in Australia's World Cup opener against England in late October.

However, he said he would return to the paddock in the Sea Eagles' final trial against the Sydney Roosters on the Central Coast next weekend and was raring to go.

"It's all good, fully recovered so I'm good to go," Trbojevic told AAP.

"I'm not playing this (weekend's) trial (against Cronulla) but I'm playing the week after.

"I had to sit out contact for a fair while, it took time. It's a three-month recovery.

"The way it worked out, missing a World Cup, the timing wasn't great. But it worked out I'd be sweet to go for Manly.

"I've been doing contact the last couple of weeks, so it's all sweet."

Trbojevic underwent surgery after having his World Cup heartbreakingly cut short when he was injured attempting to tackle English captain James Graham.

The 23-year-old's clean bill of health means Dylan Walker, who underwent off-season shoulder and leg surgery, is Trent Barrett's only injury concern.

The injury robbed Trbojevic not only of the chance to play in a World Cup final win but also alongside his younger brother Tom in a green and gold jumper.

"It was really disappointing, they're a great bunch of fellas, I would have loved to have been there the whole time," Trbojevic said.

"But what do you do, that's footy. As it worked out, I'll be sweet for Manly, I was worried that I would miss a few games."
