Mann goanna video extreme stupidity: RSPCA

RSPCA Queensland has labelled Kurt Mann's goanna prank video as an act of "extreme stupidity" but does not believe the lizard was hurt.

An act of "extreme stupidity" is how RSPCA Queensland has labelled a prank video by Dragons newcomer Kurt Mann involving a live goanna.

Mann uploaded the video to his Instagram account showing his friend throwing the lizard at a fisherman, scaring him and pushing him into a river.

"The RSPCA takes the mistreatment of any animal seriously," RSPCA spokesman Michael Beatty told AAP.

"In this case it appears the goanna was unharmed but there is no doubt it was an act of extreme stupidity."

A goanna can be seen at the end of the video scrambling out of the water.

"Only blackfulla I know who is scared of goanna," Mann captioned the video, referencing the victim of the prank.

In a separate photo posted by Mann his friend can be seen holding the goanna.

Mann blocked AAP's attempts to contact him.

AAP has contacted the Dragons for comment.
