Manu banned for 'chicken wing' tackle

Former Penrith and Melbourne forward Sika Manu has been rubbed out for two weeks in the Super League for a 'chicken wing' tackle.

Former Storm and Panthers second-rower Sika Manu has been handed a two-match ban for a 'chicken-wing' tackle.

Hull's Manu, sin-binned for the tackle on Warrington centre Ryan Atkins during his side's 34-10 win last Friday, was due to fly to Sydney this week and lead Tonga in Saturday's Test match against Fiji but stayed behind to face a disciplinary hearing where he admitted the grade C offence.

He was fined PS300 and will lose his ever-present record this season. He will sit out Sunday's game at Widnes and Hull's Challenge Cup sixth-round tie against Catalans Dragons at the KCOM Stadium on Friday week.

Manu missed Hull's cup win over St Helens 12 months ago after being released to play for Tonga against Samoa.
