Repsol Honda's Marc Marquez set up a run at a fourth straight victory at the Grand Prix of the Americas, grabbing pole position on Saturday for the fourth consecutive year.

The 23-year-old Spaniard and former two-time MotoGP champion ripped around the Circuit of the Americas in 2 minutes, 3.188 seconds for his 32nd career pole position.

Movistar Yamaha teammates Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi qualified second and third.

Lorenzo is the defending season champion and needs to stay close to points leader Marquez after crashing out early in last week's Argentina Grand Prix.

Lorenzo pressured Marquez all the way through qualifying with a fastest lap of 2:03.257.
