Close to 300,000 visitors have flocked to Canberra since early December to see more than 100 post-impressionist works by artists such as Van Gogh, Gauguin and Cezanne.
In recent weeks, some visitors have queued for more than two hours to get into the gallery before the exhibition closed on April 5.

It will now continue until April 18, almost two weeks longer than originally scheduled.
The gallery has also announced it would limit additional daily tickets to reduce waiting times, and extend opening hours on weekends during the final month of the show.
The exhibition, on loan from the Musee D'Orsay in Paris, is due to travel to Tokyo and San Francisco after leaving Canberra.
