US actor Matthew McConaughey has brought some cheer to a Texas assisted living facility after he hosted a virtual bingo night with the elderly residents via Zoom.
The 50-year-old actor was joined by his mother, wife and children as he called out numbers for the isolated residents at The Enclave in Round Rock.
The residents had been asking Mr McConaughey to join them for a bingo night in person before the COVID-19 outbreak began.
On Sunday night, with a freshly cleared schedule, he was able to take them up on that offer.
"During a time when we are all working to make lemonade out of lemons, we are so humbled that Matthew took the time to play our favourite game with us," The Enclave said.
"As Matthew would say, let's turn this red light into a green light."
After the game, Mr McConaughey stuck around to field questions from the residents, which they had written on green pieces of paper in reference to the actor's insistence that "red lights do turn green".
