Maximum penalty demanded in Greste trial

Prosecutors in Egypt have demanded the maximum penalty for Australian journalist Peter Greste and others, charged with helping the banned Muslim Brotherhood.

Prosecutors in Egypt have demanded the maximum penalty for Australian journalist Peter Greste and others, charged with helping the banned Muslim Brotherhood.

Dr Carool Kersten is a senior lecturer in the Study of Islam and the Muslim world at King's College London.

He's told Zara Zaher if Mr Greste and the 19 other defendants are convicted it could mean lengthy prison sentences.
