If Collingwood wins Saturday's AFL grand final, former premiership captain Nick Maxwell will have to cut celebrations short.
Maxwell is in a unique position, working for both Collingwood and Melbourne Storm, who are involved in Sunday night's NRL grand final against the Sydney Rooster.
So hopefully nursing a champagne hangover, Maxwell will be on a plane to Sydney on Sunday morning.
"It's been a busy week," said Maxwell, who steered the Magpies to their last AFL title back in 2010.
"I've spent the early part of the week going through reviews with the Storm boys and then when they fly to Sydney on Wednesday that leaves me to do a lot more of the Collingwood stuff."
Maxwell joined the Storm as a leadership coach four years ago - being a part of their last two grand finals - and returned to the Magpies in a similar role this season.
He said the long-term success of Melbourne had been something he'd been able to use at Collingwood during the finals series.
"The Storm boys understand what playing in the grand final is all about as most of them have been there over the last two years so I've been able to take a lot of what I've learnt from them and bring it across to Collingwood," Maxwell told AAP.
"The way that they plan for grand finals and what they've done, some of that I've tried to implement at Collingwood this week.
"The Storm were a great organisation before I got there so it's been good to see how well they work and how well their leaders work together, particularly towards the pointy end of the season."
Maxwell organised for Storm coach Craig Bellamy, who is overseeing his eighth grand final with the club, to address the Collingwood players before their own preliminary final.
"The text messages I got that night from our players was phenomenal how many of them said how much they loved it and got out of it," Maxwell said.
"Some of his messages, about your mindset going into finals, have been great for our players who haven't been through a finals series before."
