McCormack in court for child porn charges

A Current Affair reporter Ben McCormack, who has been charged with sending child porn, has faced a Sydney court for the first time.

Nine Network journalist Ben McCormack is expected to enter a plea when he next appears in court on child porn charges.

The Current Affair reporter, 43, was arrested in April and admitted himself to hospital several days later where he remained when the matter was first heard in court.

He's been charged with two counts of using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child porn.

At the Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday, his lawyer Sam Macedone successfully sought to have the matter adjourned until September 5 so they can be served the full brief.

"When we receive those we'll be in a much better position to understand what's there," Mr Macedone said outside court.

"I feel very confident that on the next occasion we'll be entering our plea."

When asked what the plea will be, he said: "I've got no idea."

McCormack was suspended by the network and is on conditional bail after being arrested when police carried out raids on the ACA's Sydney office and his home.
