Queensland forward Josh McGuire will be free to play in State of Origin III if he takes the early guilty plea to a dangerous throw charge from Friday night's NRL match.

The Brisbane prop was hit with the grade-one charge for his tackle on Melbourne's Dale Finucane in the dying stages of the Storm's thumping 48-6 victory.

However an early guilty plea will result in no ban for McGuire, meaning he'll be available for the third and final Origin match in Sydney on July 13.
