Australian paceman Clint McKay has been added to a 13-man Victorian squad for the Sheffield Shield final against South Australia beginning on March 26.

McKay, 33, has represented Australia in all three forms of the game.

The Bushrangers booked their spot in the Shield decider by holding on for a draw against NSW in Alice Springs in the final round of home-and-away matches.

Victoria will be chasing a 30th Shield title in the match at Gliderol Stadium in Adelaide, while the Redbacks will be aiming to win the competition for the first time in two decades.

"Clint McKay comes in as it is important to cover all options until we have a look at the wicket," Victorian chairman of selectors Andrew Lynch said.

"It was nice to get a tough hard game under our belts last week and the boys have freshened this week and will be ready to go."

Victoria: Matthew Wade (capt), Fawad Ahmed, Scott Boland, Dan Christian, Travis Dean, Peter Handscomb, Ian Holland, Jon Holland, Clint McKay, Rob Quiney, Marcus Stoinis, Chris Tremain, Cameron White.
