A measles alert has been issued in Brisbane after a man with the disease travelled through the city's international airport.

The New Zealander spent time in the airport's transit lounge on July 24, while en route from Bali to Wellington.

Queensland Health says anyone who was in the airport at around that time should be alert for symptoms including a telltale rash, fever, lethargy and a runny nose.
